The Value of Promoting Sports in Orlando

Visit Orlando is dedicated to enhancing our city's status as a premier destination for sporting events through strategic partnerships and marketing initiatives. Just as in sports, achieving success requires excellent strategy and teamwork. We collaborate closely with a vast network of members, organizations, and partners to position Orlando as a thriving sports destination, attracting athletes, fans, and visitors globally.

In the upcoming weeks, Orlando is set to host a series of outstanding events, starting with the Orlando City Soccer Club facing off against Flamengo, one of Brazil's most successful soccer clubs, at the newly named Inter&Co Stadium (formerly Exploria Stadium) on Jan. 27.

To amplify the game and showcase our city to sports enthusiasts, Visit Orlando will host two influential Brazilian influencers, carolixas, boasting over 1 million Instagram and nearly 7 million TikTok followers, along with five locally based Brazilian influencers. Their experiences will be shared with their audiences, and the game will be featured on Visit Orlando's "Things to Do in Orlando" Instagram Reels. Additionally, we have partnered with a Brazilian content creator to engage our Brazilian Facebook audience. Visit Orlando will gain extensive exposure through branded LED panels in the stadium during the game, reaching millions of Brazilian TV viewers.

Moving into February, Orlando will be the host for both the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon and the NFL Pro Bowl Games over the same weekend. Visit Orlando is actively promoting these events through organic and paid social posts, as well as online display advertising, targeting fans to boost overnight visitation to our city.

U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon: Orlando is making history as the first Florida city to host the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon. This event, scheduled for Feb. 3, will take runners through various neighborhoods and business districts, including downtown Orlando. The race, broadcast on NBC, is expected to draw nationwide attention and attract tens of thousands of spectators, contributing to the overall excitement.

2024 Pro Bowl Games: Returning to Orlando, the Pro Bowl Games will showcase the league's best players in a multi-day AFC vs. NFC competition, featuring skills showdowns and a highly anticipated flag football game. The Sunday Pro Bowl Games Championship will be held at Camping World Stadium on Feb. 4.

Unlike other cities, Orlando's standing as a top travel and meetings destination easily transforms a game day getaway into a multi-day vacation, fueling visitor spending in our community. From youth tournaments to mega events, the impact of sporting events plays a pivotal role in the ongoing development of our city's growth.
